It's Alive!

A group for total beginners and low level play with an emphasis on fun and learning.

Key concepts of DOTA:
- Try to die as little as possible. Dying is extremely detrimental in DOTA 2 as it takes money away from your character and gives it to the other team. If this happens several times over then they quickly build up a huge advantage. If you find yourself starting to have three more deaths than kills in a match then you need to be much more cautious and let other players take the front line of battles.
- Higher level items are gained by buying several lower level items which combine together (e.g. two pairs of slippers and a shield might make a better sheild)
- You only get gold when you perform the final hit on an enemy. Try to time your last hit to do this. You get experience if you are within about one screen's worth of space to a fight.
- It might be best to try out a couple of games with bots first if you're totally new.
