After months of using a dinosaur PC with Windows XP, I finally had bought my new Windows 8 laptop. While this operating system is great, I soon found out it doesn't run DOOM through steam.

My first instinct was to smash it.

Luckily, logic prevailed. After awhile of only using source ports for my DOOMing (I used source ports when I finally beat DOOM 1) I finally decided to try and fix this problem. And I did! I now can play DOOM through Steam.

These are the two guides I used. Hopefully they'll work as well for you guys as they did for me.

  Note: Make sure you get the new version of DOS box. It helped me out the most.

Hey everyone. I want to apologize for the lack of activity on this group first off, and I'd really like to start getting it going again, especially in playing games with everyone.

Anyway, I recently aquired an extra copy of this game, and while it isn't a retro game, I decided to give it away in this group.

Hey guys! I've recently started playing this game and have been really impressed with it. For those of you who haven't heard of it, M.U.G.E.N is a 2D fighting game that allows you to put already made characters and levels INTO the game. For example, you could take Doomguy, and Duke Nukem, by downloading their character packages (for free). It's not very complicated, and the game is really awesome, I highly recommend it.
