It's been over a month now since we disbanded RAF and a lot has happened. But this is not the faction group. Anyways thank you all for the funs times back in RPF. Jää hyvästi Isänmaa.

As a lot of you have most likely noticed by now, RAF is no more. We have decided to end its life due to a number of reasons, both relating to the faction and the people in it. This is a document (or probably an announcement idk where you will be reading this) of me, Linus, explaining to you what happened and why we did what we did.

It really started a couple of days ago, when I was stressing out over the game for no apparent reason. That was when I realised I no longer wanted to be the leader of RAF. What I wanted was a place with no randoms, a place with friends, to “retire” to and just have fun.
So, the reasons are basically what follows.

RAF was too stressful for me. There were always randoms doing things, not listening. I felt the need to keep the faction active and strong in order to not fall significantly below what it was during the previous leader’s time.



It wasn’t nearly as fun anymore. Things we were doing had become too uniform, there weren’t many to fight so we just hung around doing roadtrips and all. Eventually it just got boring. Many others felt this way and we therefore decided it would be fun doing something new, starting over.



We wanted to reform. We wanted to make the faction more for us. With RAF renaming it, changing its colour and all would be too… awkward. We felt we needed the freedom to customise it more. Ie, we can now switch name, colour and base location without feeling like we are ruining the faction (yes I know that’s ironic).



RAF wasn’t my faction. I might have run the faction for 3 months (exactly 3 months actually as of the day I started thinking of doing this) and been in it for 7 months before that but it still didn’t feel like our faction. We just rode on what the previous leader and Elites had accomplished. This is our chance to build something of our own, to create something that fits us.

So now the question everyone has been asking me constantly the past 36 hours (as of writing this); why didn’t I just give someone else the faction?

There are two reasons for this:

No one asked that I saw as having worked significantly enough for the RAF as well as shown capability to lead ever stepped forward to ask for it (For the record the only ones I consider fitting these criteria are Scrubby, Oog, Tomaatti and Ping).



Back in August, the previous leader asked me “Are you planning on ever giving the faction back to me?” (because for some time I actually planned to do that). To this I responded: “I would rather delete the faction than give it back to you.”. I meant this then and I stand by that now. There is still no one I trust would never under any circumstances (I mean gun to the head circumstances here) would ever give the faction back.



I want to see what happens. RAF was the powerhouse of the server and I am really excited for what is gonna happen now. Where are all the randoms gonna go? What is the previous leader going to say? Is the new faction gonna generate more memes? Basically ♥♥♥♥♥ and giggles.
