For those of you that have ACT OF WAR and have been frustrated by it not working on vista or higher, having to disable some of your ram to use it or it just not working. Here is a solution for you!

After many hours and differing methodology I discovered the following.

If you goto Advanced System Settings,

Look under the performance tab,

You will find DATA EXECUTION PREVENTION... a nastly little bot that prevents third party scripts from running

If you select enable for all software Except what I choose and then add ACTOFWAR.EXE by selecting add and searching it out with your search box.

and any other old game that wont work on 64 bit ...

Low and behold...

They now magically do without having to gimp your computer as long as you then run them as administrator...

You have no idea how long that took to assertain.
