ABOUT Project Teamless

To diversify and repopulate the L4D2 competitive community

WHAT WILL ACTUALLY HAPPEN HERE
1) We get everyone together to play some pug games. This will reveal a good idea of everyone's different levels of skill and personalities.
2) We talk to everyone and discuss who in specific they want to start a team with.
3) Based on everyone's input, we try to create the best teams possible. They're free to edit the roster to their liking.
4) The teams practice and scrim together. They'll be going up against a variety of opponents, other newly formed teams, mid level pug opponents, and established teams.

*A pool of resources, such experienced players and servers will be available to help the new teams if they would like, mentors can ring for the new teams or help in other ways.

WHY THIS PROJECT IS NEEDED

There's quite a population of newer players who wouldn't have any past teams they could put in their potential [looking] threads. There are a ton of people who play in C4F and pugbot, who would love to actually play competitively but don't have anywhere to start. Forming new teams is just difficult and no one really wants to, or more importantly, knows how to step up to the plate and start an effort.

Biggest part of the problem is that there simply aren't any teams where someone who's never been on a team could fit, they're all full and fairly experienced. There's a big gap between the experienced and the inexperienced in this community and it has inexperienced players stuck and unable to join a team, which is what would turn them into solid, experienced players. It's a vicious cycle and we're stuck in it.

Putting a few more teams into the community should get the ball rolling in terms of growth. There needs to be a low-tier, or hell, a lower-mid mid tier, because there is no space for a whole demographic of players that could seriously bump the population of the competitive scene. This is a joint effort to put some newer teams together to solve this problem.

A FEW THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW

This is how you get better, nothing will turn you into a solid player faster than joining a team and scrimming. Waiting until you improve as a player to join a team is a horribly inefficient and tedious alternative to joining a team and improving with them.

This community needs you more than it does any highly skilled competitive L4D2 veteran. Newer players forming new teams is the only thing that can save this game. You're working towards the benefit of the entire community and no one is going to look down on you for it.

You're probably going to get raped at first. You will get to play a good amount of balanced games as well. But be prepared to go up against established, experienced teams too. Just take heart in the fact that those players also got raped to get to where they're at, and you (and your team) will become a rapist too with the experience you'll gain. Getting raped only makes you stronger.

Looking to get into competitive play. Will be checking forums soon. Found this group; seems to be where it's at. I wholeheartedly agree the community needs this.
