Academi, known as Xe Services LLCC until January 2011, and Blackwater until February 2009, was an American security company (a private military company) founded in 1997 by Eric Prince and Al Clark.

The company has a large number of divisions and subsidiaries. Academi is currently one of the largest private military companies. The headquarters is located in North Carolina, Currituck County, on the territory of the community of Moyoke. It has regional offices in London, Dubai, Lagos and Washington, DC.

The main profit comes from participation in military conflicts, about 90% of revenue is made up of government orders.

PMCs mercenaries participated in the war in Afghanistan. The Blackwater company was hired to eliminate the consequences of Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The customers are also private individuals, oil producers, and insurance companies.
