Well I dont need ancient but it is good roleplay because of the choice of factions.

Spitty asked me to help out with advertising the server and putting together a pre-release promo for v2 ut I haven't heard much more of it. do hope things get back on track.

If the worst happens then we can move. There are a few PW type mods out now. Any you like?

If we want some ancient battes then we could always jump into Rome at War.

There was talk on the server today that Tritus royally f***ed up on 2.0 and that its basically going to be a hot fix and nothing will change, every day I see less and less people, what if this is the case and the server dies, hopefully not, but perhaps we can find another server/mod?

The Sarmatians and Alans (both mentioned in the previews) were both Iranian, as was the Sassanids and indeed Parthia too. The Huns were just to the north of Iran too.

I'm guessing all of these Scythian/Iranian/Ossetian groups will be bundled into one culture and group with one location like is the current case in the mod.

If so, then that faction is what we should strive to acquire.

Who we model ourselves on would depend on the timescale they finally decide upon. A lot changed between the current BC factions and the 200 - 400 AD factions they are looking at. If they go for around 200 AD then Parthia was still in existence, anytime after about 225 AD however we will have to have a good chat about our identity.

There's not a complete list yet, there could be a more near-east faction like the Sassanids which would be good for us (as they were the successor kingdom of Parthia). Generally the further east you go the more dependence on horse and bow. If there is not a near/middle-eastern faction or setting then the Huns would probably be the best option. They too are heavily dependent on horse and bow.
