OVW Community Steam Group for Killing Floor

Dead Space KF is a total conversion mod made by WPC and improved by OVW.

There are 4 Perks to choose from:

Marine:
-Uses Flame-based and Commando Weapons
-Increased damage, reload time, discount, flame range, magazine size per level
-up to 30% armor increase after leveling

This is the cheapest class to maintain and carries abundent ammo, although incorrect use may result in using up all of the ammunition. Using their flame weapons such as the plasmathrower or A9 submachine gun, they can set fire to necromorphs and kill them before they reach the players. The m41a is the most powerful assault rifle in their arsenal and can kill larger zeds decently.

Tips: Set fire to zeds from far away and let them die after time. Switch to the m41a whenever a larger zed comes close.

Triage:
-Uses sharpshooter weapons and serves as a medic
-Increased headshot damage, heal, discount, speed per level
-75% better armor in leveling

Triage is an essential perk: it specializes in killing larger necromorphs such as lacerators, crew slashers, pregnant slashers and Pound Slashers. Using the mk16, a decent Triage can typically kill a Lacerator in 2-5 hits in the head, making Triage the most efficient boss killer. If a Triage focuses on headshots, they would be the most ammo efficient class as well. With powerful armor and quick healing, Triage can also serve as a tank and medic. One Triage can potentially carry the entire team through the game if he/she can protect the rest from boss zeds and heal.

Tips: When confronted with a Lacerator, keep backing up and firing at the head (don't stand in place). Fleshpounds can be taken out in around 5-10 hits to the head. Always buy armor. Focus on headshots. Your most important function is keeping the team alive and protecting them from Lacerators and other strong necromorphs.

Security:
-Uses Shotguns and Explosive weaponry
-Increase shotgun damage, reload time, firing speed, explosive damage, discount, explosives resist, carry capacity, grenade capacity per level
-up to 30% better armor

Using shotguns and explosives, Security can handle large crowds of necromorphs and close encounters easily. Their MS25 rocket launcher effectively destroys mobs and stuns larger necromorphs. When necromorphs come close, the Security switches to shotguns. The GK2 shotgun can kill larger zeds adequately, though not as quickly or efficiently as the Triage with mk16.

Tips: Do not fire the explosive weapons too close. Switch to shotguns only at close range (don't get in the way of others). Fire rockets at crowds.

Isaac Clarke:
-Melee weapons
-Increased melee damage, attack speed, discount, speed, health per level
-Decreased vomit damage, damage taken per level
-up to 80% better armor

Specializes in close quarter combat with melee weapons. Isaac can tank for the team with his increased armor and health. The most ammo efficient class, using only melee, Isaac can take out necromorphs for the rest of the squad and save their ammunition. Using Telekinesis, he can also push away large zeds using the primary fire or hold them still for others to fire upon with alternative fire.

Tips: Avoid screamers or getting caught in large crowds, focus on withering down individual necromorphs. Use Telekinesis to help your allies. Try to distract larger zeds.


General tactics:
- Back up constantly if a Lacerator chases you but don't get cornered
- Make a line of Sentry turrets in narrow pathways, these act as tanks for the team
- Always have at least 1-2 Triage in the team to knock out large zeds
- Telekinesis can be used by all perks on large zeds
- Stick together as a team
- Some weapons have melee as their alternative fire (it is stronger than knife)
- Do not get in the way of teammate's firing (do not run up and knife the enemy)
- Make sure all entry ways are covered or risk being flanked
- Always spare your extra cash to those who need it. Chances are, if you don't, you'll die because the guy next to you had no ammo or gun.
