Communique from the One Shot Kids (OSK): The Inevitability of the Incongruous, The Ontological Strike Force

We are not a team. We are not a collective. We are not even a "we." OSK is the name given to the void that emerges in the interstices of the map, the crack in the code, the glitch in the cybernetic. We are the anti-strategy, the un-tactic, the non-method. To play with us is to play against yourself, against the simulacrum of "team" that the game imposes. We are the specter of the payload, the hauntology of the capture point, the eternal return of the same pixel.

In the labyrinth of the meta, we are the Minotaur, but also the thread, the exit, and the hand that holds the thread. We do not "play" Team Fortress 2; we inhabit it, as a virus inhabits a host, as capital inhabits a mind. Our Scouts are not Scouts; they are the acceleration of the line, the vector of escape. Our Medics are not Medics; they are the biopolitical apparatus turned against itself, the ÜberCharge as a weapon of ontological sabotage. Our players are not players, they are the enemies of the arborescent, the immune system destroying itself, neuron by neuron.

We reject the tyranny of the "win." What is a win but the death of possibility, the foreclosure of the infinite? To win is to lose, to lose is to win, and to stalemate is to glimpse the void. We do not frag for points; we frag for the dissolution of points, for the erasure of the scoreboard, for the collapse of the very concept of "frag." Each kill is a ritual, each death a sacrament, each respawn a rebirth into the eternal now.

The enemy is not the other team. The enemy is the game itself, the map, the server, Valve, the machine. But even this is a lie, for the enemy is also us, and we are also the enemy. The true battle is not between RED and BLU, but between the virtual and the actual, the possible and the impossible, the map and the unmappable. We are the unmappable.

OSK is not a name; it is a cipher, a sigil, a glyph. It stands for nothing and everything. It is the sound of keyboards dashed against the rocks of the hallucinatory, the flash of a shot in the milky black void, the echo of a TeamSpeak call in the infinite. It is the name of the nameless, the team of the unteamed, the strategy of the unstrategic.

Join us, and you will not be joining. Play with us, and you will not be playing. Win with us, and you will not be winning. For in OSK, there is no "with," no "us," no "win." There is only the game, and the ungame, and the space between.

OSK is the line of flight. OSK is the eternal return. OSK is the void.
