OPEN Sandbox Project: a game by gamers for gamers

This Project started quite simply out of the interest to create something that is 100% community driven and could succeed because of YOU! Hi my name is Lukas aka Specter,
I started this project after having made a stereoscopic 3D Animation for my bachelor Project at the Berlin Technical Art School in Germany. For my Animation entitled "Hour Zero" (you can watch it here: https://vimeo.com/87083218 ) I created a lot of custom made content for a post apocalyptic world. Some of this content is also open source based. I felt that it would be a shame to see these assets go to waste and thought, why not evolve it into a full blown computer game. So I started porting these assets and have also partially combined them with various small scripts primarily using the First Person Shooter Kit that is widely available for Unity.


If you think you can help with this project, be it as a concept artist, 3D modeller or scripter/coder, voice actor or you just have some great ideas for the game, don't hesitate to contact me and post your suggestions here. MY dream is to create an open world, postapocalyptic, sandbox survival game that is completely community driven in its creation.


I want the players to get updates that actually mean something to them, maybe this can be the start of the first democratic sandbox game ever, where the players decide what is put ingame and what not. Maybe this is just a dream at the moment, but the raw environment is there and can easily be crafted into something that everyone can relate to.


All I ask if you join this group is to spread the word and to add as many people as possible. I will be posting monthly milestones from now on and hopefully you can influence this process! Even if you think you you're of no help to this project, you're probably wrong, even if your help just consists of ideas or mouth to mouth propaganda you can make a change.

Lets create a game for players by players and make our own dreams come true!

Momentarily the OPEN Sandbox Project consists of an open gameworld featuring a rudimentary post apocalyptic city environment, vehicles such as cars and helicopters, a first person controller and various static 3D models. Recently 2 coders and a concept Artist have offered their help and we are still searching for new talented members.
