Natural-Selection Mapping

I guess what I'm looking at seeing, is what people are thinking of the NS2 features, in terms of mapping.

For instance, charlie was talking about possibly not needing to map ANY alien-specific content, and possibly having the maps completely open-ended, with random spawns, making it a lot more dynamic.

How do you think that will affect us as mappers? Will it make it easier or harder to map what we imagine? Will it stretch our possibilities, or limit them?
