National Intelligence Organization (MIT), which is connected to the Presidential Turkey, Turkey's official intelligence organization. Founded instead of the National Security Service in 1965, Turkey's territorial integrity, constitutional order, existence, independence, security and national power forming inside and outside the future against all elements available and to gather information about potential threats, take precautions and if necessary organization responsible for warning the relevant authorities.

The Law No. 644 was adopted by the Parliament on July 22, 1965, and the name of the organization was changed to the National Intelligence Agency (MIT) in order to gather intelligence on all matters related to the preparation of the state's national security policy. With the Law, it is envisaged that the MIT will be administered by an Undersecretary and the Undersecretary will only be responsible to the Prime Minister in the fulfillment of the duties determined by the law. MIT carried out its activities for approximately 19 years in line with the provisions of the Law No. 644, but in the light of the rapidly changing and developing conditions, a new legal regulation was required. For this purpose, the State Intelligence Services and National Intelligence Service Law No. 2937 was enacted on 1 November 1983 and the law came into force on 1 January 1984.
