For most mods, your best bet is to create the save with Custom Advanced Setup Screen. If this is not possible with the mod you're using, just let me know what the URL is for your game and I'll modify the save by hand to whatever difficulty settings you want.

As a protection, we make it so that the passwords for other players cannot be typed[multiplayerrobot.com]. The way Civilization handles player passwords is disabling the continue button on the new turn screen.

If you intend to play the game over GMR, save the game at the player turn screen and upload it to GMR. When that player gets the save, the continue button will be enabled, or their password will be set to what it is on the website settings.

If you intend to play the game on local hot seat, have each player in your game go to the game details page and disable password encryption. Then, re-download the save from GMR.

There's a bug in Civilization V where keystrokes can still effect the game when typing your password. I'd recommend removing your in-game password on GMR – we make your turn unplayable to other players whether or not your password is set anyway.

GMR 2.0 (Multiplayer Robot) will have a new API. The new API will be very comprehensive - in fact, the new website itself will use the new API for everything. This means that any third party client could access all of the same functionality and data that the website does.

The new API will use ASP.NET SignalR[signalr.net], which will allow us to take advantage of WebSockets and gracefully fall back on AJAX. However, this may be an issue for your particular project because, as far as I can tell, a SignalR client does not exist for Python. That being said, if any third parties are using our current GMR API, we could re-create it in Multiplayer Robot.

As for the turn history, the new API will offer the ability to get the turns for a game or user. However, if you want to use it for estimating turn completion times, the new Multiplayer Robot will actually do that server-side, using some predictive analytics. The new API will be able to give you an estimate in the form of a date range.

We're expecting to roll out the initial alpha test of Multiplayer Robot within a couple months. If you'd be interested in targeting the new API, we could probably get you in on the alpha.

Sorry for the trouble! There was some invalid data in the save file. I believe I've got it fixed so it should work now. However, this could have been the result of a bug with save file modification. If it happens again, let us know and we'll get it figured out.

Sorry about that. Steam's Web API is down, which was causing trouble with our login code. I've adjusted the login code to compensate for this by using the data we have on record. However, this does mean that first-time users won't be able to login while the Steam Web API is down.

Hmm, I'm not sure why this would be the case. I think Mel has more admin controls here since he made the original group, so maybe he can take a look.

Your best option is to have the player surrender so they don't hold up the game. If they're liberated, they can re-join the game in progress, and replace the AI.

It is possible to re-join your games. You'll need to ask the host for each game to re-invite you.

Once you're back in, there's a couple ways you could revert back to where you were. On the game details page, a game host has the ability to revert turns. However, this is limited to the last two rounds (two in-game complete turns). Alternatively, the GMR desktop client keeps an archive of all saves submitted in "Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization V\Saves\Hotseat\GMR Archive." Someone could find a submitted save from the right time and resubmit that as their turn to get the game to an earlier state.
