Check out the themes page... I've changed some things around based on suggestions from players. There are now 3 always active themes. I will be adding more, but, I will always first try it as a special theme - then if all goes well, I'll turn it into an always active theme.

Theme 8 - its another attempt at culture, science or Diplo win, but ancient start since the modern start game is not a fair match.

Hopefully I didn't make any mistakes this time :) don't mind the funny colours... weebly is annoying trying to get colours matching, or working properly!

King, the GMR group has been around since Sept 2012 at least (going by the first post).. When you are asking when was the forum opened, do you mean the GMR forum? or just the Civ league forum within the GMR forum? Either way, I don't know why Steam wouldn't notify you when the new forum was created. I never got a notification either.

There have been some team themes already. Currently I'm the only one putting the themes in ; however, if people have ideas I'm open to them. The league is still relatively new - many people have yet to play a game.

Maybe it is just my internet connection? I'm still have this issue, but it is also a terrible connection to the website. I often get warnings that a script is unresponsive on the website when loading up list of games or submitting turns manually.

Hi Xaviien - you don't have to use the league theme games that I've uploaded for everyone to grab - you can create your own when you are the host, then you wouldn't have a DLC issue; however, you would need to make it clear to those joining that some DLC you don't have, so they know they can't pick those civilizations.

Hi Xaviien, yes, it is still going. I've added your name to the league. You can challenge the players in the standings. Most of the communication is either through the GMR website, or through steam (there is a sub forum in this group for the league.

I think it sounds good. I'll work these in.. i also would like to see some larger games.. i just need to work everything out - i'm a bit slow right now, as wife had surgery, so I'm a bit busy slaving over her :)

Actually, i have servers i manage that I can host from already - it is the website development that I have to work on.. I do see they have some cool features, but I don't think anything specific to league stuff (more clan and guilds). I'm sure they could accommodate however, I can host for free already, so prefer to do it myself

Ok - it seems the 1 on 1 are the more popular themes to play.

As a result, I've done 2 things

1 - Theme 1 is now a permanent option that can be played whenever.

2 - Theme 7 is now a 1 on 1, but with different options than theme 1

Hi Drexel, how have you been submitting your turns? Via the GMR Client, or manually through the website? I've been submitting my turns through the website (using the manual upload) and they've been working that way.

I want to eventually get a real website for our league.. one where you can click your name and see your games, etc. I'm not a programmer, nor a dba.. but I dabbling in many things and google is my good friend.

But - i wanted to make sure I'm starting right.. the database structure. Any dbas in our league? What would be the best way to build this.. one database - can i do it in one table as well? and the columns could be
game id, game url, theme #, challenger, players, winner, losers, completed, quitters

Could it be that simple? How can I adjust that there are sometimes only 2 players, and other times there are maybe 6 players? would i need columns like player 1, player 2, player 3 and sometimes they may be blank?
