Agreed. The latency on the site in general is a major detractor; I suspect that if a bandwidth boost would help, there would be enough players willing to pitch in a buck or two a month that we could easily pay for it.

This happens sometimes when you revert. I'd recommend contacting the site admins for help; they can fix this manually (I think).

Thanks. It turns out I can't use the mods because I'm on OS X. One of our other players used the unbloater and CAS to fix a damaged file. I appreciate the help!

A couple of games I'm in are having a similar problem: The save file crashes the game for the player following someone on vacation. (So, player A is on vacation, player B downloads the save file and tries to play, but Civ5 quits rather than launching the game.)

We've tried reverting a couple of player moves back (to before the vacationing player), but it doesn't seem to help.

Any ideas about how to proceed?

Not familiar with any mods, but in my experience the games go a lot faster on "Settler" difficulty — production is faster, so you're able to do more stuff more quickly and there's less of that "one month of moving your warrior two hexes and ending the turn" feeling. Difficulty levels are more of an issue when you're playing the AI anyway; if you're only playing against humans then everyone has the same advantages. I think that Quick game speed + Settler difficulty will get your game going relatively quickly.

A game has finished and I want to surrender out of it to empty the slot. However, when I try to surrender, the web page hangs on the "Surrendering" screen.

Is this a common experience? Any idea how to get this game off my list?
