So I managed to get it working. Turns out it does count dead civs when taking order into account. The way I found the civ list, which included dead civs was by opening the civ 5 save in a text editor. In there is a list of all the civs. When I started a new game with GMR I just arraged the AI and humans based on this list and where i wanted everyone to be.

The only issue with this is there were 22 players in my game, and GMR only has support for 12. So not sure what I would do if I wanted someone to be in a AI slot that say ocupies the 14th empire. Well that is a problem for another day. Not now..... hahaha.

So I loaded my game and it is doing something really weird. For some reason it is turning it into a hotseat game but there is only one human in the game. How does the human player choose his nation? is it based on the order of the civs when I create the game on GMR website.

So I am guessing that it is based on order of the civs in the game. Aka I start a GMR game and if I want him to be russia, they are the 5th civ in the game so I order it as my buddy being the 5th civ.

So what could be happening is it is in fact counting dead civs. As I started with 12 civs in the game. So the 5th slot could be a dead civ. is there any way to get a list of all the civs in a save game, with the correct orders of them all? Could the in game editor do this for me?

Edit: If I create it as a scenario it says the game is full, and no one can join. And I cannot start the game because there is only one human. Any ideas?

Has anyone had any experiance with using the multiplayer DLC modpacks and GMR.

This DLC is in fact the mod, it is just shown as a DLC in the game and activated automatically on game start. This allows users to start a normal multiplayer game with said mod or fake DLC in this case.

With my current mod I use we created one of these modpacks and wondering if we can use it with GMR desktop app or not. Are first test game we created did not work. Just wondering if anyone else has tried to use it.

So with the mod we currently use we converted it to one of these DLC Multiplayer modpacks. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this DLC modpacks and using GMR desktop client.

So far the one game we have tried failed to work. Just wondering if anyone else has done it. Though i really should start a new thread as it is very off topic to the first post.... whoops.

P.S Does the amount of players actually matter to GMR?

Like I started my game with 12 AI but now we are down to 6 or so. What should I tell GMR? My guess is it only matters how many players there are not ai?

Kinda hard to explain but in essence I like to reserve the ability to have people join whilly nilly. The idea is that not all the games are awesome, so if I can weed out the ones that are and have my friends join late game, where we have the most fun then everyone will get more enjoyment out of it.

So when you upload the first file it would seem that GMR has the ability to convert the single player game to a hotseat multiplayer game. Is it possible to reproduce this behavior with any save?

I program for a living so I can figure most things out. Is there a guide or reference anywhere on how this was accomplished? Is it possible to just tie into the GMR api to have it convert any single player save to a hotseat game with a listed number of players?
