I was planning on making Multiplayer Robot intelligent enough to figure it out on its own. The plan is to use this data for estimating when turns will be taken (visible on the game overview page on the designs) and auto player ordering. We can probably display this information in detail on player profiles, too.

That would be incredibly awesome! As long as there is a way to over ride the player ordering manually, just in case my history is showing that I'm likely to take my turns between x and y, because that's the trend over the past 12 months, but I've now moved to working midnight to 8am or something similar.

When I said the previous suggestion might not be the easiest thing to implement, I was forgetting that you guys are clearly GENIUSES when it comes to this type of thing.
Maybe we should try to think up the most insane, but useful and awesome features we possibly can, to really test you out.

Everyone puts in their times (maybe tied to their profiles?) and when players join a game, a schedule of all joined players is generated. This would let the host set up a much more efficient order to minimize delay between players' turns being played.

That is a great idea. It seems that people generally like to order players by timezone, but that's not always the best choice.
For instance I finish work between 6 and 11 pm each night, and am generally online until around 1am, whereas some others may only be online between 6 and 10pm, which could seriously mess up the turn order if we were nearby (timezone wise) but got positioned based on GMT +? rather than the actual, specific times we can play.

It might not be the EASIEST thing to implement, but the return would definitely be worth the effort.

I thought it might be a good time to discuss our first impressions, and give any suggestions we might have, before Brian and Mel put TOO much time into it.

I especially like the look of the new conversations, and most importantly, the "sub-thread" "branches" off to the right for tangents.

Since they're only "toying" with the idea of the sub-threads at the moment, I think it's important for us to shout at them about how much we like the idea, to make sure it's included in the final design.

I was under the impression we were required to use those saves, like HoF or GotM.

And thanks greycat, but I have already started a game on GMR, I just wasn't clear on starting a league game. Everything is clear as crystal now, but for starters, I think I'll just join the game you invited me to.

I'm keen to start a game or 2 in the league, but I'm unable to start the actual games due to not having all the DLC required to load the initial save file.
Out of the DLC required, I only have BNW, G&K, Conquest Deluxe and Mongolia. I hope to pick up all the others eventually, most likely the next time they go on sale.

First, I'd like to find a player or 2 to challenge. Preferably other newbies to the League, but I'm not sure how likely that would be.
Once I get into it a bit more, I will likely upgrade to 10/unlimited games, so then obviously I will be able to accept/issue more challenges.

Second, I'm wondering how often the DLC Civs actually get used, and if there would be any chance of getting a theme with minimal/no DLC other than G&K/BNW, or at least have the save file with no DLC enabled, so then anyone would be able to host the games, and enable DLC as required.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, Theme 1 or 7 is fine with me.

Thanks, I did some digging through google and found the CivFanatics thread, which lead me to the Weebly site.

None of these places seem to have a good indicator on how to join the league.
Plenty of information on how to join games etc once you are in.

Also, since this is where I first read about it, I wasn't sure if it was still going due to the last post being 3 months old.
Of course, I should have known better, since this IS based on the asynchronous version of a turn-based game, where 3 months is a drop in the ocean.

I'm keen to be involved in this, if it's still a thing of course.
