After having played one single game of duos, the population average chance of you being carried (defined in this case as that your teammates were better than you) to your rank is 50%. After two games, the chance of you being carried to your rank is 25%. After three games, it is 12.5%, after four 6.25%, after five 3.125% and so on. As you can see, this percentage chance of only ever being carried decreases quite rapidly. In 3v3 games, we start at 66% chance of being carried, 33% chance of carrying, but the numbers decrease at a similar rate... Conclusion: If you don't have the required skill to maintain a rating, after a certain amount of games YOU WILL DROP OUT. Therefore, all players of the same rank have a very similar skill level.
