Actually happened a while ago but I still have people who message me asking how mcpvp is doing.

HCLEWK: It's been a good run, but I'm sad to announce that today is the day MCPVP closes its doors. We are selling off most of our major assets to www.brawl.com After a very long, steady erosion in our player base and, consequently, our revenue. Even after massively cutting staff and recently massively cutting back on our infrastructure, we haven't been able to consistently turn a profit in over 6 months. So, we are forced to shut down. Brawl will be taking over the HG, CTF, and Build servers. They bought the domains and the code for each of those, and I'm giving them the stats as well. All the kits purchased for HG & CTF, and any time you have remaining on your Premium Subscriptions will be honored by Brawl. There will be a transition period, though. The plan is for us to keep hosting all our games for the next week or so, and then point HG, CTF & Build at Brawl's servers. Contractually, Brawl has 30 days to get everything set up before they are required to give you your kits and premium, but the plan is to do it sooner than that, and with as little downtime as possible. As for the rest of the servers, I'm going to leave them online for now. I really appreciate everything everyone has done for our little community. We have had a lot of fun over the past 4 1/2 years. I suspect a lot of you guys will migrate to the Brawl.com community - it's run by a great guy, Chaploo, who was once a part of our community, but branched off to do his own thing.
