I'm betting some of you are wondering "what is this about?" and I'm betting more are saying "wait, where the earth did this come from?"

Well I'll tell you what this is about, This ladies and gentlemen is our next big fake update.
Centred around 2 electrical companies at war with a grip hold on pratically everything, when this hits you'll be given the chance to develop all sorts of electrical based weaponry and hat wear for the technologically weak mercenaries that rule the current market.

You want to make Lasers that go Pew Pew in the night?
Then Dr.Eddison of Alpha Electric will give you full support, a decent paycheck and a harsh deadline to do it in.

That not your cup of tea?

You want to make a sturdy, well "tested" weapon that uses the powers of electricity and other science based power to send lead and other metal objects at your foe?
Then the Baron Von Teselia, Owner of Hurtz Electric & Electricals will certainly have your back when he's not busy firing the entire work force and hiring a new one.


A moderately well planned story will explain everything about Hurtz & Alpha, even down to why they are able to give their weapons to both Red/Blu and why are they only just getting involved with everyone's favourite mercs.

We've got a lot planned for this, so I'm hoping and starting to expect it to be bigger then medieval. So I seriously hope all you contributors come around again with your minds buzzing with electric based thoughts for the "Power struggle" update.

Whenever it gets started that is.

Even though we've run out of content to release, the Medieval Update is not yet over! There are three brand new community contests with more chances to potentially win some outrageously-expensive prizes. Everyone is free to participate in any or all of the following competitions:

Even with the Medieval Update wrapping up, we still have some pretty ambitious plans in store for the TF2 community. In particular, several medieval-themed contests will launch alongside the Day 6 content tomorrow at precisely Noon PDT.

Aside from your standard replay and kill cam competitions, we'll also be fishing for artwork featuring anything involved with the Medieval Update (that means art based around YOUR items).

What could possibly convince someone to take precious time out of their day to draw a picture of a wooden flamethrower? Below you'll find a list of prizes we have prepared specifically for this event, including Portal 2, L4D2, Amnesia, Killing Floor and Super Meat Boy to name a few.

If you happen to have any extra games lying around, especially after that whole GOLDEN POTATO deal a few months back, and you'd be willing to add them to the pool of prizes, please let me know. So far, both Smashman and Helljumper have made some very generous donations.

Thank you for waiting patiently. Day 1 of the update is now live. Please look forward to Day 2 of the update releasing some time in November. Or maybe it's tomorrow. I wouldn't know.

Hey, guys. This isn't a real announcement but it's something very cool nonetheless.

A few minutes ago, I sent an email to Robin Walker containing a small preview of the Medieval Update (mostly just pages that have already been posted here) and offering to give Valve early access to the final product in exchange for some small blog promotion when the time comes for us to actually release everything. About two minutes later, he sent this reply:

"This is awesome stuff. We’d be happy to link to you guys when you’re ready for it.
