The Lucasian Professors of Mathematics

The Lucasian Chair of Mathematics (also known as the Lucasian Professor) was the holder of a mathematical professorship at Cambridge University. It was first endowed in 1663 at Cambridge as a result of a gift from Henry Lucas, a governmental representative from the area encompassing the university.
