Lost Island Survivalist's

I know a few have heard me talk about this over the last few weeks on teamspeak. I have quit Ark and hosting. I highly doubt I will ever play another EA game again.

Sitting here with around 1100ish hours in a game it makes me sick thinking about how some of the easier things that could be fixed and were promised months ago go by ignored.

Here is why I walked away from it all:

Server- The lack of respect from people really wears on you. Whether it is people on the server or recruiting. I paid for the server out of my own pocket and spent more time than I ever thought I would trying to keep the server running that made the game lose its edge. Most didn't know until I started delete people past the 21 day window at one point we had 135 members who had been on the server.

Issues- I could promise every time I turned my PC on there would be issues. A lot of people had client side issues even before the mods got installed yet the server was always blamed for it. Most times it was because they had a weird mod installed they didn't know about. Often times happens when server hoping because some mods install real fast. Others times it was just doing a simple verify files. Yes occasionally the server needed an update but all of it caused a lot of negative.

The game is in alpha state which I think most start to lose thought about when issues pop up. Dinosaurs disappear and items vanish which everyone blames the server. This game has so many known bugs that have been present for such a long time that it is hard to say what caused it. I personally have lost over 35 perfect tame max dinos some even perfect breeds to just vanishing. My problem was the snow biome and they do know about it but have yet to fix it. As for the gear well it wasn't decay because that was off except for the setting giving me an option as admin to completely destroy a structure once a player hasn't been on in so long.

Lies- Getting told lies by players gets old. We are old grown adults or at least I thought we were. I don't care if you left the server but lying to me about it when I'm trying to keep the server clean is annoying at best. I don't think most realize when your on someones friend list they see every time you log in and what you log into. This also showed it's ugly head with a new member who tried to steal most of a tribes dinos and possessions.

In the end I'm simply done. I wasted 1100ish hours on a game I loved but quickly grew old of. The new content is ok but the game play remains the same. Most of it the day it gets added gets nerfed into worthlessness. I thought the big MMO's were bad with their nerfs but Wildcard proved me wrong. As for me I'm going back to college, taking a full time management job and moving on to a different type of game.
