About this group

This group is for players who are (interested in) gaming on Linux using the Open Source graphics stack with Mesa on Intel, AMD, Nvidia, and everything else!

What we could do with this group

* In the discussions we already report about games that work on the free graphics drivers. Please feel free to join.
* On reddit it was proposed that a curator based on what games run great on Mesa would be cool. I totally agree, but neither have the time nor the resources (multiple GPUs etc) to do this. Maybe we could do this coop style? Discuss in the forums.
* Reporting bugs on the freedesktop Bugzilla (See the links to the right)
* Grow more members and link game developers to this group who claim, the open source drivers are irrelevant ;)

Mesa 10.3.0 is now in the official repositories for the upcoming Ubuntu 14.10 "Utopic Unicorn": https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mesa

Archlinux also announces the availability of Mesa 10.3 in the official repos as of today: https://www.archlinux.org/news/mesa-updated-to-1030/

Thanks to a post on reddit by "peterpaper" the group jumped from 4 (?) members to 48 (at the moment) over night.

Welcome to all new arrivals! :-)

Feel free to report which games you are successfully running on Linux with open source drivers and which ones are still failing. If you do, please try to give a little info on your system specs, like the type of your GPU, distribution and Mesa version. The latter you can get e.g. with "glxinfo | grep OpenGL" (w/o quotes) in a terminal.

You can show fps in games by setting the launch options in Steam to: GALLIUM_HUD=fps %command%

Have fun, remember in the end it's about playing games. :-)
