We are playing a competitive achievement hunting game called Shields & Swords.
Here is how it works: Anytime a player 100%'s a game on Steam, they gain either a Shield or Sword. If they are the only person within the group of players to have 100%'d the game, it is a Shield. If someone else has already 100%'d it, then they get a Sword and they also convert that other player's Shield into a Sword. If a player runs out of Shields, they are kicked out until they collect 3 new Shields and get readmitted. Swords can be converted back into Shields if all other players that share Swords for that particular game are defeated. The gaining and conversion of Shields and Swords will be calculated at the start of each month, so if you lose your last Shield, you'll have until the end of the month to try and get another to keep yourself in the game. Also be wary of game updates that add achievements to previously completed games, as this can also remove Shields/Swords if not re-completed. The player with the most Swords is considered the current active winner, until someone else surpasses them.
