To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand how to play axe. The playstyle is not passive at all, and without a solid grasp of reading your opponent most of the attacks will be dodged. There's also axe's off-stage play, which is definitely not just spamming dair after dair after dair. The axe players understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly only use sair, dair and recovery, to realise that they're not just overpowered- they say something deep about how ♥♥♥♥ this game is. As a consequence people who dislike axe truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the true amount of intellect required to slight dlight.
