Ooorgh. Now we're in the weeds. =D

Point-and-clicks (P&C) - I'm not totally certain multiple cameras per room ARE exactly part of the genre. Like the examples of FFVII you gave earlier, they'll often do one angle, maybe two per room, which is - even if you're using dutch/low/high/dramatic angles - a far cry from what I'd expect from something like Resi Remake, which usually has between three-to-nine separate shots per room (I'll include 'corridors' or 'halls' in the definition of a room in this case).

Basically I'll need to investigate how many shots-per-room those P&C games have.

Same for FFVII, really. =/ I dig the multiple cameras w/Aeris and Cloud that you posted, but that's still basically two overviews with a slight truck.

Regards pivot cams (or 'panning' the camera) - honestly, it's more my personal preference. It's a fairly easy-to-execute way to cover an entire environment with a single camera while ticking the box for 'fixed camera'. You lose the sense of intentionality and authorial control. I think key part of the Fixed Cam thing is multiple shots and cutting between them... but then that can really discombobulate the player. =(

Basically I don't have a solution for this yet. We might as well just continue to collect game names, but maybe provide some additional information.

I don't think Mystic Arc switched cameras per location that much, but for the moment let's allow it.

Cheers, Vash.

PS: Might be useful for thinking about this? https://blog.storyblocks.com/video-tutorials/7-basic-camera-movements/ I'm starting to really appreciate static camera angles, as they speak to very specific careful decisions made by the designer(s).
