Into the Animal Holocaust: The Truth of Factory Farming & The Slaughterhouse (The Birds)

When we think of Farms,we think of Pigs,Sheep and Cows in the fields,and Chickens in the yards. But this is what the clever marketing wants you to think. Advertisements can be very manipulative,you must remember this. What I am about to show you is what the Animal Agriculture Industry wants to hide from your view. These are not from isolated cases,these also happen worldwide.

This only covers food,a post regarding Clothing such as Wool,Fur,Leather and Silk will be done at another time.


Birds are arguably the most abused of the livestock. However,we must sort the Birds into a few categories to explain correctly.

Eggs
In factory buildings where baby birds that'll be used to lay eggs are produced,their lives begin in misery. Chicks are loaded onto conveyor belts as they hatch. Workers sort them by gender,male or female. This is extremely distressing to the birds. This is where the beginning slaughter begins. As you know,Male Birds cannot produce any eggs. So they are killed immediatelly,often gassed,suffocated,drowned or ground up alive. The Females may look like they have a better life,but this is false. The females are debeaked; they get the beaks cut off by a hot blade. This is often done without care,so the beaks are often cut so far that the birds starve. This causes a lot of pain that can last over a month. These birds are left in cages,either 'Battery' or 'Enriched' cages,which in reality are not that different. Enriched Cages are just a tiny bit bigger with a pole the hens can jump on,but it really does no better job. The Hen's feathers are lost because they rub against the metal bars constantly,and some even pluck at their feathers because of the insanity. Female Chickens only produce roughly 10-15,sometimes 20 eggs a year naturally,but due to genetic modification,they produce 250 to 300 eggs per year. This causes early deaths as egg laying spends a lot of energy. When egg layers are simply too weak to go on,they are slaughtered for low grade meats and dog foods. 'Free Range' is not that true either,it just means the Birds live in giant warehouses in their own feces. This brings us to our Next Topic

Meat
In these warehouses,the birds are crowded,corpses litter the floor,trampled by other birds. Chickens are some of the best examples,however Geese,Ducks,Turkeys and other birds live in these conditions also. Chickens for meat are different breed than Egg Layers,they are referred to as Broilers. They are made to grow so fast that their fragile juvenile bones snap. They are babies in obese adult bodies. They are sent to slaughter at 30 days old. They are forcefully stuffed into trucks,most birds die on the trip due to the elements,and lack of food and water. When they reach the slaughterhouse,they are hung up by their fragile legs in hanging shackles on a conveyor,they then are sometimes out through an Electric Water Bath,where the birds are electrocuted to try make them go unconscious,however this rarely works,it only paralyses the birds. They then have their throats slit by a rotating blade. Birds still conscious feel all the pain,gasping for breath. They are put into a tank that scalds off all their feathers. Most birds are still alive at this point,and are scalded alive.

Foie Gras
Foie Gras is bloated Duck or Goose liver. This delicacy is made in only Male Birds,Females are killed like Males in the Egg Industry. They are force fed via a pipe that shoots grain. The birds are kept in cages,they have no room to move around,and are deprived of all natural needs. The swollen livers cause immense amount of pain,and when they are sent to slaughter,their livers are cut out. Rest of the body is either asted or used for low grade meats,like pet foods.
