ABOUT Evo County Sheriff's Department

Integrity - Selfless Service - Loyalty

The Evo County Sheriff’s Department is the primary law enforcement agency in the 1,118 square miles (2,900 km2) of unincorporated area of Evo County. Acting as a county police equivalent for the almost 321 people living in the unincorporated and incorporated areas of the county.

They primarily provide law enforcement services for only the unincorporated areas of a county, while yielding to municipal police or city marshals to provide law enforcement services for the incorporated areas.

The Jurisdiction of the Evo County Sheriff's Department oftentimes overlaps with several other local and state agencies operating in Evo County, including the Evo Department of Public Safety, Evo City Police Department, and the unified Los Angeles County agencies operating on a joint program.

The duties of a Evo County Sheriff generally include keeping the county jail, providing bailiffs for the county and district courts within his county and serving processes issued by said courts, and providing general law enforcement services to residents.

The current Sheriff of Evo County, Kyle Tenpenny, was sworn in May of 2015 after winning the December 2014 election.
