Okay i'm going to make a post here of how to connect to gamesurge using an IRC client called chatzilla (you need firefox)

Go ahead first and download chatzilla https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/16

Then, in your firefox browser, go to tools > Chatzilla

You'll then see a nice window with a chat box.

First you need to go to http://gamesurge.net/createaccount/
and make a gamesurge account. Make the username whatever your nickname can be different.

You'll recieve instructions on how to log in to the auth server.
After you recieve the e-mail open up Chatzilla (or maximize it)

Type /server irc.gamesurge.net into the chatzilla chatbox
Then take the auth string that you got in the e-mail /authserv auth <username> <password> and enter it into the chat box when it prompts you to.

Now go to, in chatzilla, Chatzilla > preferences
Click on irc.gamesurge.net then click on the lists tab
Under auto-perform click add and type in /authserv auth <username> <password>
Then press ok

Now, go back to your main chat window and you'll see an irc.gamesurge.net tab
Right click on it and choose "Open this Network on Startup"

And now you're set up, every time you start chatzilla it will connect you to gamesurge.
