Infamous for its bad temper, an owlbear attacks anything it thinks it can kill.

10,000 years have passed since the Long Walk of Kevlar. Wracked with infighting the once proud Clan Owlbear fractured into disparate camps. Their differences irreconcilable, political strife soon turned to civil war; the clan forgotten. One by one the Owlbear legions were withdrawn from the galactic frontier to fight in the Owlbear Wars. For millennia Owlbear fought Owlbear; the once proud empire staggered and weakened. Barbarians gathered at the gates.

Their attentions turned inward, none noticed when the frontier systems began to go dark. By the time their presence was detected it was too late. Our ancestors, the Ancient Owlbears, had long ago banished them to the Nether World but it was when the Owlbears were at their weakest that they returned, more depraved and snakelike than ever before. The onslaught unleashed by Clan Yuan-ti was swift and decisive. The Owlbear legions, weakened by endless years of civil war were swept aside; the core worlds left defenseless. The shinning flame of the Owlbear Empire which once burned so bright flickered and died.

Their core worlds overrun the few surviving Owlbears have sought refuge in the outer rim systems. Relentlessly pursed across the galaxy, their numbers ever diminishing, hope dwindles for the scarce few who remain. With extinction imminent, a few surviving Owlbears take up the moniker abandoned so many years ago. The ritual is long and arduous, involving ancient magics not seen since the before before times, but when all is said and done emerges an order not seen for thousands of years. Clan Owlbear is returned.

The fate of Clan Owlbear now hangs by a thread. With each passing moment the forces of Clan Yuan-ti draw nearer. The time has come for all Owlbears to stand together, to assume their true forms, to return to the glory that once was Clan Owlbear. The time has come for heroes.
