Clan of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on Steam

A long time ago on a commode far away; Mongeau farted. No he really farted, but this has nothing to do with the founding of CoA.

The story goes something like this. Late in 1997 Mongeau and now departed Cornholio purchased copies of a new game called Unreal. The game was incredible with graphics that nothing could come close to. Sadly the netcode was such that anything less than cable or a T-1 would enable multi player fun. So the game died out for the two would-be gamers, who still spent time playing duke 3d via direct modem connection.

One day almost a year later Epic Games graced us with a patch for Unreal. The two gamers found themselves playing online albeit on a modem. They were hooked playing as many hours as humanly possible. They met people and ran into clans, for the first time. Interested in the community concept; talk of forming a clan started.

How does one name a clan ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥? After several months of playing independent, the two got pretty good at playing, it was great fun. Sadly they started seeing the dark side of gaming; the sore loser. Being called names like ♥♥♥♥♥, ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and yes ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ seemed strange. Talk of a clan continued, a name and theme for the clan eluded them. Till the two were talking, using peoples poor sportsmanship was a good theme for the clan. What could they use for a name? Being the jokers they were, the word ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ was used. Enter the Clan of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, originally started for a laugh it grew rapidly. The membership criteria were good sportsmanship, personality and having been insulted by someone just for playing and having fun.

After what is now eight years; we are still a clan. It has taken on a life of its own. Through good friendship and loyalty we are going to keep on going. Our competitive arm was lopped off a while ago but may grow back with the release of UT3. If it does that’s cool if not cool too.
