The original Midair is now dead, but a successor is being worked on and is currently in closed beta.

There are multiple bittah alumni working on this project including PeTtY, Nasty Hobbit, jEstEr, DEVIK and myself, as well as a few from the original Midair team, and a few new faces too.

The main objectives are to remove what didn't work (like a bad progression system and unfinished / unbalanced game modes), polish what did, and add content where possible. This is largely a volunteer project but the team is comprised of 14 people who are all fans of the genre and bring their own skills to the table.

So what's improved? The cartoony graphics/characters are gone, being replaced by a more gritty version. Map aesthetics have also been overhauled. Sounds have been adjusted. Map specific music has been added.
Current game modes are CTF, Team DM and Arena. Duel mode and Team Rabbit modes are to be added in the near future with other potential game modes being prototyped. Team DM has been bolstered with special pickup powerups which may grant temporary boosts like faster energy regen, multishot, double damage, extra impulse (my favourite), etc.

We have a 'newblood' role for new players of the game to learn from veterans and be matched against them for an easier transition into the competitive game modes.

UI is getting an overhaul.
Website has been built with a working ladder system, a few matches have already been played. We've had a North American and Euro tournament 1-2 months ago and yesterday there was an Oceanic tournament.

Pubs have been populated daily (there's two going at the time I'm writing this message, as well as a Euro pug) and this is still within closed beta.

Plenty of us are super rusty and newbies are welcome too, maybe you've only played T:A or midair. That'll be enough to jump in and know the basics, the rest you can pick up as we go.

A while ago I managed to obtain the entire archive of TWL demos before the site was shut down / rebranded / whatever they've done with it.

For the past year or two I've been converting old matches and uploading them to YouTube so you don't have to watch the demos on a PC with a working T2 install. Most Oceanic clans are covered and I still have more to go.

I have also converted a bunch of T2TV recordings, and some TWC / T2WC matches as well... including the infamous AU vs USW quarter final "we win on touches" match.
