ABOUT L4D2 E3 group

The Left 4 Dead 2 Beta Restoration Project

Introduction:
Welcome to the Official Left 4 Dead 2 Beta Steam Group. This group's purpose is to form and maintain a community in regards to the Left 4 Dead 2 E3 Demo Restoration Project. You can view news, patch notes, updates, and announcements here.

Background:
On June 1st, E3 2009, a teaser trailer was shown center stage. Loads of zombies, explosions, and most notoriously, four survivors fending off a horde. Left 4 Dead 2 was officially announced. Following that day, an early Left 4 Dead 2 play testing buld, or beta, was presented on the E3 show floor. While it may have operated like a reskinned version of the game's predecessor Left 4 Dead 1, hardcore fans noticed unique attributes of this early build, therefore, incurring a passionate audience. Unfortunately, Left 4 Dead 2's E3 Beta was never released to the public, therefore, locking it in a fate of being forever-lost. However, Valve, permitting custom modding to their franchises, gave content creators infinite opportunities to create their own Left 4 Dead 2 experiences. And just like that, Left 4 Dead 2 E3 recreations were developed. On March 3rd 2012, Gigan, Sourcerer team manager, used primitive modding skills to develop one of the first-ever Left 4 Dead 2 modding packages to date, only consisting of all current existing beta-inspired modifications. A product known as The Left 4 Dead 2 Beta Pack, was born. Overtime, the Beta Pack evolved into a fully structured and managed project consisting of many more professional modders, designers, collaborators, and content creators. We are Sourcerer, and our job is to give the Left 4 Dead community the closest replication possible, of the Left 4 Dead 2 E3 Beta/Demo.

Sourcerer:
Sourcerer is a team consisting of modders, designers, artists, and content creators, all of which share a collective interest in Left 4 Daed 2 and Source Engine games. While the Left 4 Dead 2 Beta Restoration Project remains as the forefront of our branding, we do plan to work on additional projects in the future. To see the current developer team, view the pinned discussion listed below. You will also see previous project collaborators, and ex-team members, thereby recognizing their contributions to the project's overall success.

Credits:
Properly crediting all content creator assets is extremely important. Sourcerer will do their best to ensure everyone's work is properly recognized. To view all used assets, please see the Credits discussion pinned in the list below.

@Noobster2731 On Gamemaps.com , we have an "Online Edition" posted for this reason specifically (currently outdated - refer to the previous announcements for more information on that issue). This alternate pack grants players a middleground of E3 and retail content. In other words, scripts and menu UI are all removed while any E3 mods left over remain because of the online support they contain. You may download the previous version if necessary. I am sorry for the inconvenience.

@SpeeeedGeek Thank you very much! I appreciate the support.

Will there ever be a version of the modpack without the menu (and possibly also the script) changes for people who wanna play with just the model, sound and animation changes?

Thank you both for the kind words! Have a great holiday.

@DUD3R0N0M0S I doubt anyone has access to those animations. As far as the pack goes near completion, yes, you can definitely say that. There is still however a bit more work to do and more content to be produced.
