Wipes

Server and BP wipe: First Thursday of every month
Server wipe only: Third Thursday of every month

Server rules

Racism and Sexism is not tolerated and repeat offences will result in ban.
Swearing is allowed, many of the community are mature gamers.
Go easy on new players, take only what you need in a raid etc.
You will get raided, its part of the game - learn from it and build stronger next time.
VAC and EAC bans are upheld on this server.

Griefing

What is not acceptable:
Repeatedly raiding people before they have a chance to rebuild
Destroying items in a base for no good reason other than being a ♥♥♥♥
Walling off parts of a base for no good reason other than being a ♥♥♥♥
Repeatedly trolling or abusive comments to others in chat. If they ask you to stop, just do it.
Repeat offenses of the above will result in a ban

About the admins

The admins are: Mako, ed002002, Saff3r
All administration is done outside of the game, our admins play the same as everyone else. You won't see us flying around or spawning C4 but we also won't break down that wall you accidentally placed.

A warm welcome
We are proud of the community of regulars that have settled on our island, many of them mature gamers with a good attitude. Toxic players prop up everywhere but they dont last long on our
island.
Your questions answered
Rust isnt the most intuitive of games, we recommend youtube or steam guides to cover the basics but there will always be help in server chat if you get stuck
Social justice
We cant police KOS via admin, it wouldnt work. However our community is one of the best for banding together and helping the little guy. If you are being trolled or griefed call out in server chat and you might just get some gun toting bad asses come to your aid
Protection as you get on your feet
Coming to an established server can be a tough gig, ask in server chat if anyone is accepting neighbours and you might be welcomed to build in a community. Established players living nearby will offer aid and protection, just dont be a parasite

So talked to my fellow admins, and we've decided to shut down Badlands for good. Server pop has been non existant for some weeks now so its time to put this one to bed.

The Future of the Badlands Server

Hey guys

As most of you are already aware, the server has seen a sustained decline in the population over the last month to the point where 10 people on at the same time is considered a lot.

For me, boredom has started to creep in, partly down to the low numbers, but I think the admin responsibilities are just getting a little too much. I constantly wonder if we could have done things different to keep up the pop and grow the community, and it does my head in. Plus, family and work commitments are making it tough to dedicate the time needed to promote and support the server.

The server is paid up until the 20th of April, thanks to the folks that contributed to the payments. We will of course keep the server running until then, but I personally will not be funding the server beyond that date.

Essentially its down to the Badlands community as to what the servers fate will be. If anyone is interested in taking over ownership of the server - ONLY IF YOU SIGN IN BLOOD THAT YOU WILL NOT BE A ♥♥♥♥ - drop me or Mako a message to discuss.

We will continue to admin the server remotely and most likely will drop in from time to time, but I wanted to get this out there so you understand the position and give you an opportunity to have your say.
