Fresh Start! (R.I.P. Brianson's Survival grounds)

Wait, what? Whalegrounds is going Minecraft? Impossible! Well, yeah, we are... for the time being, and here's my reasoning.

DayZ SA is as of right now allowing community owned servers to be bought, but, DayZ SA is also complete garbage as of right now, giving server admins only the ability to ban and kick people and also preventing any community mods to be put in, like Epoch (not to mention the lack of everything from vehicles, planes, broad range of guns, to house building). So, it's been decided that it would be best that a Minecraft server is opened up for the time time being, atleast until things get better. Because, Minecraft is a particularly fun game that I, and others, enjoy playing and is also good way to pass time and ease stress from the horrors of life, as there's literally nothing to get mad in minecraft about (contrary to fps games with camper n00bs and 360 headshot no-scope trickshotters 4 lyf). It's also something that i've been promising for the past 2 years to do, having encountered various bad server admins in the past, cursing them on the way to the ban hammer. And, oddly enough, every server that's banned me has collapsed on themselves in just a few months after the banning, so I must be a god of sorts. So, it would be good to run a server myself and not repeat what those guys did (oppression, conformity, and making innocent people do your imaginary dishes isn't cool), for the time being (If the server ends up becoming moderately successful, with new people coming in at a steady rate, instead of just the same old friends coming in and out, i'll keep it open).

Alright, so what will this server include?

The server is honestly just going to be like any other server. It'll have bukkit, economy, MMORPG and all that other jazz. But, as for a civilization mod, it's going to have Towny Towny. Why Towny? Because, despite the utter supremecy of factions' PvP system, Towny is actually better in the content it delivers, even though complicated at first. Towny allows you to construct multiple cities within a single empire all around the map, something I really enjoy using. It has almost the same PvP system as Factions, but it does take time getting used to. And it also promotes city-building/empire-building like no other with the idea of buying land, contrary to randomly found power in Factions, and creates a really cool economic system as a result. So, you're able to either become a sort-of Venetian trading republic and expand your empire through economic wealth, or become a giant warring empire all-the-same, just like in factions. So, Towny becomes like a son to Factions, building on the foundation that was already laid down, and allowing more options, choices, and freedoms with the given system- something I absolutely adore, and is exactly why i'm putting it in here.


But, aside from that, I hope to see everyone on June 10-11 (could be either day, depending on how long it takes to set-up), when the server is up and running.
