Hello there, the original creator of VS Saxton Hale here!

Since December, I've been working on a VS Saxton Hale Recreation powered by VScript.
This means I’ll be able to upload it to the workshop, and, with enough visibility and support from you guys, Valve might consider adding it to the game once it’s finished.

Out of curiosity, I'd like to hear everyone's stories about the first time they played VSH. And I don't mean my VSH server, but the Versus Saxton Hale game mode in general.

How familiar were you with TF2 before you first played VSH? Were you new to the game? A veteran? Or have you never played VSH at all?

What made you stick with VSH early on (or not stick with it)? What made it stand out to you?

How has your VSH experience changed over the years?

Hi everyone, it's been a bit since my last announcement.
I've just released FF2 1.10.5 which makes it compatible with the latest (3/12) TF2 update. Server owners-you can find it on the forums[forums.alliedmods.net] or Github[github.com]. There's also a bunch of other goodies in some previous versions that I'll quickly list (just the major ones):
* No more boss overheal!
* Improved class switching when you win as a boss!
* Rebalanced weapons!
* German translations (and updated Russian ones)!
* And a bunch of additions for developers :)

Boss configs will still have to be updated-just replace all vo/*.wav sounds to vo/*.mp3 and you'll be set.

In addition, I'd like to take this time to announce the official Freak Fortress 2 server. It's hosted by 50DKP[www.50dkp.com] and does not feature any advertisements other than a few text-based ones that occasionally appear in the chat (to promote 50DKP itself, nothing else). I've tried to keep extra gameplay-altering plugins to a minimum, but there are some "silly" ones such as building hats or dispenser music.

It's located in Canada (and is currently a bit empty but hopefully if enough people join it'll start getting more popular ;P).

VSH has just been finished getting ported to Sourcemod's new 1.7 syntax.

For us programmer people, this means we need other server owners to test it in-game on a live [or a test] server and give us feedback if anything is broken or if there's any errors, cause it really changes a lot of the code.

(Neither I or WildCard65 are in a position to set up a test server for it, much less a public one).

For server owners, if you're using sourcemod 1.7, ... actually since 1.7 is supposed to be backwards compatible I'm not sure if it changes anything XD
But we'll probably end up writing the code in 1.7 syntax from now on.

For the average player, this is all behind the scenes stuff that doesn't necessarily affect gameplay ;P But I'm still making various functional changes. Don't forget to post your suggestions for VSH.

Of course, don't thank me for this, I didn't do any of the massive syntax changes (thousands and thousands of lines of code changes); it was all done by WildCard65.

Heya guys, as Wii-U introduced before, I'm Chdata - the guy currently managing updates to VSH. Like Wliu, I was also granted admin by vasya ;p

For the H'ween holiday, my username is Pixey.

I took over development of VSH a few months ago because it's my favorite game mode, but I noticed that it was starting to get outdated and neglected a bit. So my goal now is to keep it up-to-date, keep it fresh, and improve VSH servers everywhere in general.

I also have my own small community (TF2Data) and my own dedicated VSH server:

As such, now is the time to suggest things you'd like to see changed in VSH!

But I'll note, I will mostly be looking at weapon changes, game mechanics changes, or other gameplay adjustments. Not the addition of bosses to VSH, as I view VSH as the sort of "vanilla" type of boss servers in comparison to FF2.

That aside, there is one boss I have interest in making which would be an MVM robotic Hale, if anyone out there is skilled in modeling.

Also, you may notice on that thread that my private version of VSH as linked above is a lot more updated than the public one I release. It's not that I'm trying to withhold content, I just want to keep my own server unique in some way.

Probably some day in the future, might I end up updating the public VSH with more of my private modifications - like the changes to the plogistinator and various spy weapons I made in the public VSH.
