Gabe Newell dropped out of a prestige college to go on to do better things and created Steam and Valve from the ground up.
Steam and especially Valve games made a big mark on the gaming industry and their games are still cherished to this day.

I myself have always loved Valve and its icon. A Valve controls the flow of fluid we receive. Valve controls the flow of imagination and creation we receive. They give us worlds and ideas and thoughts we've never thought of before.
Their logo of a Valve on a head is the most iconic and genius way to represent themselves I've ever seen.
Valve controls the flow of content into our heads.
