The 2013 Leveling System Came With So Much Discrimination to the Unpretentious.

People no longer look at the individual for their identity. The first thing almost everyone looks at is the Steam level.

Steam level is likely the number one superficial aspect people use to create discrimination, superiority complexes, and a plethora of elitist circles.

Go on any profile. It's guaranteed to have something such as "If you're under level 10 then you're not allowed to add me." Unfortunately, scammers have created a stigma for low level users, which is why you see these rules everywhere.

It's understandable if you're suspicious towards a profile that is private and has nothing in common, but assuming a majority of lvl 10 people are scammers? That's absolutely silly.

This is reminiscent of real-world society, in which your wealth, possessions, and occupations say who you are rather than your personality.

Steam level -- what about it makes people idolize it so much? It doesn't grant any benefits or return on investment. It cannot be sold or refunded. It is the equivalent of burning money in a wastebin.

The point of this statement isn't to say Steam levels are bad, it's to point out that idolizing Steam level and creating segregation for it doesn't make much sense.

You'll commonly see comments of "I want to display you on my profile" or "added for your level." Why are they seen as such a status symbol? Why treat people with a high number as property?
Steam level isn't only used as a status symbol. It's also used in arguments as a fallacy to make themselves feel superior.

A factor used to belittle others, refute credibility, and nitpick.

Treat users with respect, regardless of high or low level. There's one fact: we're all PC gamers here to play games, and a number doesn't change that.
