Talking about Games, the Universe, and Everything

This little group is an experiment to find a place to talk about games, pop culture and everything that makes this bleak and dystopian world fun.

A kind of "private forum" where we keep can keep the riffraff out and celebrate gaming, not showing off how snide and sarcastic we can be.

Discussing (and dissecting) games can often be just as much fun as playing them, and this is a place to do it. Feel free to post, comment and share your thoughts and opinions.

(We are currently using the Groupchat as an makeshift IRC, it works surprisingly well)

After a few hundred years in existence, The Water Cooler is still alive! Shambling with bits of flesh falling off, alive nonetheless. So, as a public announcement, I'm reminding you people that we exist and that we always welcome talk about videogames. So, if you feel like discussing something - give us a shot. After over four months in beta, it’s safe to say this little group has been an unforeseen success (not that our expectations were very high to begin with). We’re happy to have quite a few regulars and commenters already, but would like to hear from even more of you – if you haven’t already, come swing by the private group forum to discuss games, life, art and anything in between in a relaxed atmosphere where we’ll never judge you (but can always edit your posts to make you look silly).

For even happier leisure times, come visit the group chat, occasionally bursting with activity whenever anyone feels like it or when we’re trying to get some multiplayer action going. Just remember that wearing pants is strictly optional and you’ll fit right in.

No matter if you want to change the world one mind at a time, vent your frustrations or just hang out with a bunch of picky(and incredibly handsome) videogame enthusiasts, the group is here to help.

Wavetale is precisely an example that would pay to get smaller team access to an effective engine where such issues can easily be solved so team can focus on unique game mechanics.

And 1,50 is a very good price. I paid 4,50 and did not really regret it either.

Characters, setting, story and presentation were nice enough though. The surfing was cool.

IIRC, if you progress in the main story before having finished all side quests in an area, you don't get a chance to finish them. And I think there was also an issue with how the game saves. If you load a game in which a side quest is still open, the savegame removes it and you have to go to the quest giver again in order to start it anew. That being said, most side quest were just somewhat tedious "find that hidden object for me" missions. They would have worked better in a fully open world where you're not under pressure to finish them before moving on with the main story.

Wavetale was alright. I kind of liked it but it could have been better if it had either been more linear and more interesting as open world game.
