ABOUT TPL Invitational 2015 5v5 TO Tournament

5v5 TO Tournament

Hello and welcome to the steamgroup of the TPL 5v5 TO tournament!
This is the place where all announcements, rules and brackets will be posted so keep an eye on it!

Tournamentsystem

We are aiming at the participation from up to 16 team, formed by 5-8 players each. The tournament itself will begin with a groupphase with 4 groups with 4 teams each. 2 teams per group will qualify themselves for the quarterfinals, getting either the first or the second ticket of the group, depending on their succes during the groupphase. Getting the first ticket will match you against the second team of another group in the quarterfinals, getting the second ticket against the first team of another group.
At the point of the quarterfinals the tournament will be singleelimination with a battle for the third place. Semifinals and the final itself will be a best of three with no duplicates at the mapchoice.

The battles

As said this is a 5v5 TO tournament. The fights will start with a kendoduel for the mapchoice. The winning team can choose map and side from the limited mappool. Every scrim has to be spectated by a referee. The team with more time remaining after finishing the map or the team which managed to get more objectives done will be the winning team.

Tiebreaker

In the case that both teams managed to DNF eachother at the same objective the winning team will be decided dependant on where this happened. Some objectives like pushing a cart will show that one team managed to get more progress on the objective before getting DNFed. At objecctives like this the team with more progress will be the winning team.

At objectives where there is not one team with an undeniable advantage the decission will be made by a kendo duel.

Restrictions and rules

-50% rule will be on during the TO aswell as during the kendo
-the pinglimit is 90, if someones ping is constantly over the limit, he will get the chance to fix it during a pause. If he cant fix it he has to get replaced (therefore everyone should check his ping before starting the scrim)
-there will be a server hosted for the tournament (TPL Scrimming Place). If both teams agree on playing on a different server they are allowed to do so. The adminpassword of the new server has to be given to the referee so he can pause the game if needed
-Hacking is obviously forbidden (this includes disabling leafes in the script of the game to spot your opponents across the map)
-Smurfaccounts are not allowed
-Playing for more then 1 team is not allowed
-The scrims have to be organized by the teams themselves with a timelimit of one week per scrim. If you agreed on a time post it in this group so you ensure the server being up for your scrim. If one team is constantly and massivly delaying their games they will get disqualified
