Health Advisory in view of the Coronavirus China

Dear all,

With the coming CNY holidays, I believe many might be travelling.

In view of the recent Novel Coronavirus outbreak in Wuhan China, I would like to take a precautionary measure and would like all personnel travelling to Wuhan, or the cities nearby Hubei Province during this period (21th Jan – 12th Feb 2020) to check out your local travel advisory before the start of your travels.

Q: What can travelers do to protect themselves?
A: Travelers to Wuhan or cities nearby Hubei province should take note:

-Avoid contact with animals (alive or dead), animal markets, and products that come from animals (such as uncooked meat).
-Avoid all contact with infected individuals.
-Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.

When you return from your trip and feel sick, you should:

-Stay home. Except for seeking medical care, avoid contact with others.
-Seek medical care right away. Before you go to a doctor’s office or emergency room, call ahead and tell them about your recent travel and your symptoms.
-Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when coughing or sneezing.
-Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.

Symptoms of this illness include fever, cough, and difficulty breathing and pneumonia related symptoms.
