Recording has been stopped after encountering an error

I'm getting this error ''Recording has been stopped after encountering an error'' it happens between 5-20 minutes into the recording. It forces me to enable/disable to get it starting again.

I've tried moving the recording folder to the root of my D: drive in a new folder, without it fixing the issue.

I've also tried lowering both the length and bitrate.

I only play CS2, which is the game it's happening in.

Any fix for this?

this might happen if file access is very slow. in my case, using a faster hdd fixed it. another thing that's been mentioned has been adding an exclusion for antivirus.

Alright, do you have the new Nvidia App installed by any chance? I uninstalled it, went back to the old Nvidia Geforce Experience app and the problem was solved.

I received the same error and had about the same amount of recording time before I would get the error. I removed new Nvidia App like Squeaky Fengy above said and that did the trick. Was able to get full sessions of recording correctly after that.

This fixed the issue for me!
I switched from my 7200 RPM HDD to my 860 EVO SSD, and it no longer gives me any error.

Finally a good fix!

The fix for me was changing the save location from my HDD to my SSD! :)
- Saw another in this thread recommending the older NVIDIA app, as the new one is causing issues.

No need to uninstall, just disable nvidia overlay, this will fix it. If persist try disabling xbox and/or discord overlay.
