BUG: Group Chat links in Steam Desktop app are broken
Expected Behavior:
The Steam Group Chat links, both the "Enter Group Chat" and the "X people are in Group chat" links/buttons in the app, supposed to get you into the group chats via the desktop client UI. Invite links still work.

Bad Behavior:
Clicking on them does not bring up the group chat in the chat window for the app. This is currently affecting all three branches...Mainstream, Beta, and Family Beta.

The Workaround until Valve fixes it...
Log into Steam via web browser and then enter the group chat that way. Invites still work for the Desktop client. When you use the work around, Steam just pops up the chat window with you inside the group chat...This is not a secure way to open a group chat...but it works

Confirmed recreating this issue, via leaving a group chat and trying to rejoin it with the "Enter Group Chat" button on the group homepage. Seems to just be under the Steam Client, invite links might still work.

I had updated to May 20th patch on Steam Beta.

It's a bug related to the Steam React update by the looks.

Console error is: src\steamUI\SteamStartup.cpp (1745) : Assertion Failed: steam://friends/joinchat/(chat number) should be supported in React now!

Can confirm, the console produces this error. For now i have to join groups using web browser.

Also notice how making groups invite links in the client currently produces urls like:
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/chat/invite/<code>
instead of abbreviated:
https://s.team/chat/<code>

Steam group chat invite links also still work. Just the buttons and links provided in the desktop client and app are broken.

Hopefully this won’t move the discussion to the main hub, but that other be updates are ready for your computer. Sometimes glitches like that will happen when updates for MacOS and Windows are available. Check that first, then switch to the Families Beta branch to see if that doesn’t fix the problem.
