Is this it? Is this the life we were promised?
To struggle in the mud until old age claims us?
To wage wars over the words of ancient Gods,
To send our sons to slaughter in their names?

Mother Earth weeps for the children she loves,
For those who were to be the Star Children,
The inheritors of all that exists.
We were her legacy, her gift to the worlds beyond.
