Critiques, Hidden Gems, and Bad Puns--Oh My!

Welcome, I go by the alias The Schmaltzy Cynic or simply Brian. This is a group simply to make my review showcase more appealing at a glance with a curator system in case people want to follow my recommendations but not add me on a friend's list to stay in touch.

I mainly create reviews as a hobby and as warm-up work for writing. My favorite genres include CRPGs, "role-playing" RPGs, tactical focused games ranging from XCOM, Rainbow Six 3 to Final Fantasy Tactics games, puzzle-games, FPSs, platformers and perhaps dozens of more with an outlier or two games from genres I despise. My tastes remain open to try new things with a level-head in genres I'm unfamiliar with as well as games that go different paths.

As a result of the many types of games I adore, I don't view myself as a hardcore gamer in any one type of game, rather an ethusisast who likes a good challenge or experience.

The aim of my reviews is always finding something worthwhile to talk about in a review of a game either beloved by many or shuffled around the Steam store unseen. If my showcase should serve anything practical, you should be able to find at least one game you probably never heard of that you wished someone would have told you about it when it first came out.
