The Expanse - SE Edition

Attempting to reproduce the near-future-realistic world of The Expanse in Space Engineers. This will include structures, ships, factions, and eventually a full campaign overhaul to simulate the world of The Expanse.


Primary factions:

:: UN - United Nations
Home to the largest fleet in the system, their territory includes everything sunward of Earth, and of course Earth's own moon. The UNN, Earth's navy, is known to be older and less up-to-date and maintained but the UN's nearly limitless resources and vast amount of ships they command put them at a distinct advantage.

:: MCR - Martian Congressional Republic
Originally a colony of Earth, the MCR recently broke away and declared itself an independent military/diplomatic power once it developed the Epstein drive, putting in its hands a revolutionary thruster design bringing the rest of the solar system within reach. The MCR Navy (MCRN) is much smaller than the UNN, but is significantly more advanced.

:: OPA - Outer Planets Alliance
The Outer Planets Alliance is an organization that started its life as a labor union or advocacy group, fighting for the interests of inhabitants of the Asteroid Belt, often in direct conflict with the inner planets' interests. The OPA is described as either a social movement, according to people sympathizing with Belters, or a terrorist network, according to the inner planets. The main HQ of the OPA is the highly advanced Tycho station, which is as much a space station as it is a mobile shipyard.
