The recent mess with Helldivers to is bringing into focus something that has been going on for a while. There a many games that require you to register with other platforms to play the game. Many in fact even require software for that platform to be downloaded.

Would love to hear your thoughts on this practice.

I have access to most major resolutions. I can tell you that after running them all over the years my two favorites for gaming are 3440x1440 and 3840x1080.

I know the later will cause people to roll some eyes but let me tell you, you have to see it to believe it. I showed that resolution on a 49" Samsung display at Quakecon and the people seeing it where blown away. The immersion was just over the top. They did not sit far back from it, in fact the table was only 24" or so deep so they sat pretty close.

Not ONCE did anyone notice pixelation or image quality issues. The game play was amazing. This was a lot of Doom and Madden Football.

The reason I like these two resolutions is immersion of game play that an ultrawide aspect brings but also the fact they are not hard on your system to drive. A 5700XT could drive a 3840x1080 display VERY well and the 5800XT rocks at 3440x1440.

4K displays get a lot of press but in my opinion (I have one in front of me) they have minimal impact for gaming. The extra screen space a 4K offers is a god send for document production and work multi tasking. For gaming the impact is much less than I would have expected.

What about 5120x1440, this is a great choice as well but like 4K it impacts the need for higher end hardware to enjoy. Gamers are often budget constrained and so my focus has always been how to get the best value from the experience.

I tried multiple monitor setups many times but for me the bevels just always ruined my experience, thats why 21:9 and 32:9 are so amazing to me.

There is a known physical condition where about a third of the population cannot have their brain remove the physical separation of the images. These people are also the ones that any kind of bifocal does not work, I am one of those.

To this date 2E still holds a special place in me heart, I ran a campaign for 6 years of at least once a week game play. We cycled through about 15 players over that time, ranging from 4 players to 6 on a regular basis. At one point I think we had 8 for two or three sessions.

The story behind how the campaign started, progressed and how we got to the end is actually a ton of fun to tell.

For me it was a church group. We ordered in Pizza and the Youth Pastor led the group. We made characters, I thought the Paladin sounded so cool. His name was Zentuck, that was 1975.

The Nitro+ cards are essentially the same with some minor tweaking
