To often it feels like people load up a game and go right to trying ultra settings. In truth Ultra is often a bit of a waste from a game play experience and you can actually use in game settings to have a decent impact on how smooth your game play is beyond what you might think.

First begin with your monitor. If you have a 144hz monitor then you want to keep frames rates under 144 FPS. The reason is your monitor will not give any benefit beyond 144 FPS and can create poor image quality.

Using a 144hz monitor as an example I start with the High game settings and then see what kind of performance I get. My goal is around 100 to 110 FPS on average. The reason I choose that low of a frame rate is because it is the average, this means there will be spikes higher and I want those spike to be under 144. By doing this I can turn off Vsync and the various bummers than come with using it.

I now tweak my in game settings up or down to stay in my target zone. I have a real goal for those settings, the best performance i can benefit from with the best image quality that supports that performance.

When you set in game settings do you have a goal in mind or just hit Ultra and never look back?

Do you think it is worth buying a game for early access at full price?

We have gone some time now with LAN events being closed and the ability to come together and enjoy PC gaming in groups. Do you feel the time is ripe for LAN events to begin again?

What kind of temps are you seeing? Are you referring to Edge temp or Junction temp?

There has been a lot of growth industry wide in support of SFF PC Builds. Many case makers have embraced the SFF design and we are seeing more SFX PSU options than ever. Do you have a SFF Gaming rig or plan to build on in the future? If so then tell us about it.

Personally I have made the move completely to SFF. I have an Xproto style build as my personal gaming rig, an NR200 based build in the living room and even my test bench is SFF.

As a gamer, like all of you, the current GPU market is a bit distressing. GPU pricing seems a out of whack and availability is a hit and miss. How are you dealing with the current market? Are you holding on to old cards, modding and overclocking them to extend their life? Are you buying cards but now buying less or getting a less powerful card to try and control your spending?

Could we see the current pricing change how your gaming? Maybe moving back from 1440 to 1080 so you can spend less on the GPU to enjoy higher frame rates?

Would love to hear how everyone is dealing with today's Market and your thoughts on where it will go tomorrow.

I have noticed 2560x1080 seems a nice sweet spot with ultra wide aspect and great performance due to lower resolution.
