Announcing the Ghost Recon Phantoms division (and finally opening the group to public)

After nearly a year, it's time to finally get serious and start organizing.

To achieve this, of course we'll need a game to build around that's currently popular, so of course the natural choice (which so happens to be a favorite of mine) is Ghost Recon Online.

I know at least 5 of you play this, with a few more interested and I know there's a TON of buzz going around now that it's remade and revamped as Phantoms, and I've given it a few rounds to see how it looks.

The short answer is great. The majority of players seem to favor Recon, meaning not many people have organized enough to form serious clans, the general skill level hasn't changed much, and I can still top the scoreboards on my team pretty easily.

On that note, we need to open up to the public as membership has stagnated. I'm not expecting a huge influx right away, but the caln tag has been out there and I know some of you have a bit of recruiting experience (though not many), so I'm going to designate Recuiting officers in the near future and start developing a staff heirarchy. I'll probably be working on getting an off-steam forum up soon as well, and look into acquiring a Teamspeak server as well. I've already laid down basic recuiting guidelines in a pinned discussion, so if you feel up to it start inviting the curious. I'm also going to rework our active officers a bit based on activity in the group and interest in the games we associate with currently (Nuclear Dawn, Star Trek Online, and Ghost Recon Phantoms).

For right now, options are open as to which games we continue to associate with (we may drop ND and STO very shortly as not many here play them) and the table is open for new suggestions (Tactical shooters mostly, please try to avoid graphics-demanding games and low-maturity communities like Call of Duty, yes the multiplayer is fun but it ends up as a free for all as there's really no teamwork). I'll be starting to schedule more events as well, so keep checking back to make sur eyou don't ,iss anything.

New year, new games?

Seems not to many people here are interested in the tactical shooter genre. If anyone has a suggestion for a new game, it'd be nice to see a bit more activity outside of the admins.

That being said, Special Forces Team X is still a nice little gem that's been dead for some time due to bugs at launch that have since been rectified, and the game is now VERY solid and entertaining if you have the patience to wait for people to show up. That bein gsiad, it's great for friends to play together because 2 v 2 and 3 v 3 game works quite well.

In addition, I'm considering branching beyond lost and low pop games into cult favorites like AI Wars and possibly even slightly more mainstream games, just to breathe some life back into the group. Opinions?
