A group for bros and fellow /v/irgins that wanna play Doom Online!

Oh! Hello there. I didn't see you, because I literally can't, you're just the digital representation of some guy I can only see if I find out the location of your computer room, and take a good, long look at that handsome devil in the wheel chair.

...Erm, sorry, got a little sidetracked. Lemme introduce myself. I'm PortalFreak996, an advid Doom player that just loves playing Doom!

Why did I make this group? Well, lemme tell you something. Modern games are fun and all, I enjoy a bit of Call of Duty, Battlefield and TF2 every now and then. But at the same time, we gotta respect the games that brought us the titles we know and love (sometimes) today. And one of those games happen to be, obviously enough, Doom! One of the greatest FPS games of all time, it defined the genere of FPS and put it on the map of...Uh..."VideoGameGenereBurg" or something I dunno. Anyway the point is, Doom is such a great game, that the community is STILL going strong to this day, making custom WADs everyday to find other ways to play, source ports so fellow Doomers can play Doom in its entirety in glorious 1920x1080 resolution and beautiful OpenGL-rendered lighting, to name a few.

Seeing that Doom is an awesome game, I also try to have as much fun online as possible. While I do find a few good servers, they don't always fill my online Doom needs. Along with that, it doesn't look like there are a lot of good online Doom groups on Steam, so I decided, "Hey, why not make a group of my own!" And so, this group was made.

Basically, this group is made for hosting Doom matches and recruiting people who are interested in Doom online. It's not just gonna be Coop Doom, there's also gonna be Verses modes as well. Y'know, modes like Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, etc. The sessions will either be unmodified Doom, or with custom WADs like Brutal Doom and RGA2. Doom sessions will be announced when I make a group event. But keep in mind, I don't always wanna play Doom, so don't expect constant announcements.

Here's what you need.

First, the original IWADs for the games. These contain the main data for the games. You're gonna need the IWADs for Doom 1, 2, Final Doom, Hexen, Heretic and Heretic: Deathkings of the Dark Citadel, and Chex Quest 3 for this group. You can get all those games off of Steam for a relatively low price (except Chex Quest 3, that's free). Or if you wanna get em' for free, check out one of the links below.

Second, a source port. This is the thing that I meantioned earlier. Not only will you be able to play Doom in 1920x1080 res, but it also allows you to play online! Specifically Skulltag, Zdaemon and Zandronum. This group will mainly use Zandronum for online gameplay.
